EA Sports fixes juggling glitch in EA Sports FC 27
29 September 2026
On Friday, September 25th, 2026, the big day was finally there: the release of EA Sports FC 27, the latest instalment in the hugely popular former FIFA franchise. As usual, many players and international esports fans immediately went hunting for glitches and bugs in the brand-new, and one particular glitch grabbed more headlines than EA Sports would have liked. At random moments during the game, players would suddenly start juggling the ball instead of passing or controlling it.
EA Sports got wind of the juggling glitch very quickly though, and they did not take long to fix it. The company has delivered an update as fast as they could, which completely removes the glitch and makes EA Sports FC 27 playable again.
What exactly was the problem?
The actual juggling glitch in EA Sports FC 27, which was also called the flick up or kick up glitch online, basically made the game unplayable. Fortunately for EA Sports, the glitch was discovered during the pre-order phase, in which millions of players already ordered the game. These people had early access to the first commercial version of EA Sports FC 27, and it was them who reported the juggling glitch.
Basically, what happened is that the players in the game would randomly start juggling the ball or even give a lob pass. This would most often happen when you wanted to pass or control a ball in-game, or sometimes without having initiated any action at all. The problem could be fixed by changing the controller settings a few times in a row, but that was far from ideal (especially for a brand-new title), making EA Sports FC 27 practically unplayable.
Update 1.0.1
According to EA Sports itself, the issue was caused by certain custom controller settings. Many FIFA and EA FC players use personal settings tailored to their playstyle, and apparently, this caused problems for some users. As a result, they would suddenly encounter issues at completely random moments during gameplay, including the juggling glitch.
To resolve the issue, EA Sports released update 1.0.1 for EA Sports FC 27, a few days even before the official worldwide release on Friday, September 25th. The release notes for this update state the following regarding the glitch, among other things: “Addressed the following issues: Sometimes, players using a custom controller preset were unable to perform their intended inputs”.
EA Sports FC 27
Under the former name of the franchise, the new EA Sports title would be called “FIFA27”. They are no longer allowed to use the FIFA name though, since the partnership with the worldwide football federation ended a few years ago. The game was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Windows, with varying prices depending on game version and console. The least expensive version of EA Sports FC 27 is the one for Nintendo Switch, priced at $ 59.99 in the United States, while EA Sports FC 27 Ultimate Plus (for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series) is the most expensive version at $ 149.99.
