7 fighting game titles at Evo Japan 2025
Like last year, Evo Japan 2025 will feature a total of seven fighting game titles, including globally well-known titles like Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8. Players who want to compete in one or more of the titles can register via the event’s official website. At the moment of writing, no less than 8.648 players have registered for Evo Japan 2025, with previously mentioned Street Fighter 6 attracting most players by a mile. Out of the 8.648 registrations so far, 6.536 players registered for Street Fighter 6.
The seven titles selected to feature during Evo Japan 2025:
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising |
Guilty Gear Strive |
King of Fighters 15 |
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike 5on5 |
Street Fighter 6 |
Tekken 8 |
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. 5on5 |
As you may have noticed, two of the titles listed above have “5on5” written after them. That is because outside of these two titles, all of the titles will be played in a 1v1 format, as is traditionally the case. Street Fighter 3: Third Strike and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. will be played in 5v5 format though, for the first time in history.
Prize pool distribution
Besides the participating titles, the organizers behind Evo Japan 2025 have also already published the prize pool distribution for the tournament. Considering the heavy interest in Street Fighter 6, it comes as no surprise that the competition was given the biggest share of the total prize pool.
