Exclusive Lionel Messi skin for Fortnite available this month

International esports and football (or “soccer”, for our American readers). Both of these worlds have shown to share considerable overlap in the past few years. Many football clubs are on the forefront of the international esports experience with their own organizations and contract players, while a lot of players are actually gamers as well. Just look at Manchester City star and Norway international Erling Haaland, who got his own skin in Clash of Clans earlier this year, and he’s not the only one. Lionel Messi, one of the best players in the history of the sport, now also has his own exclusive skin, but for Fortnite. It will be available for purchase in the official in-game store up until Sunday, December 29th, 2024.

Official Messi skin in Fortnite

Seen by many as the best football player to ever play the beautiful game, it is no surprise that Lionel Messi has hundreds of millions of fans all over the world. Many of those fans play Fortnite as well and they have been looking forward to this December month for a long time. That’s because during this whole month, the long-awaited and heavily anticipated official Lionel Messi Fortnite skin will be available for purchase in the Fortnite in-game store.

As you can imagine, lots of people are interested in the skin, which is why the game’s developer Epic Games has decided to make the skin available through purchase and not by, for example, completing quests or challenges. In order to get the official skin, players need to purchase the Messi Bundle, which costs 2.800 V-Bucks at the moment of writing. Currently, 1 V-Buck is worth around € 0.000087 or around $ 0.000091.

Real fans of the player and, of course, of Fortnite will be tempted to make the purchase though, especially as it’s more than just a simple Lionel Messi skin. The Messi Bundle actually consists of ten different items, including a couple of Messi skin variations. When purchasing the bundle in the official in-game store, you get:

It's also worth mentioning that players can choose to purchase the Lionel Messi outfits separately without all the additional items and cosmetics. The Lionel Messi outfit, for example, includes the LEGO Fortnite skin, the Number 10 back bling and the Mane Event emote, and costs 1.800 V-Bucks. For 1.500 V-Bucks, players can also separately purchase each of the Streetwear Spark Messi outfit, the LEGO Fortnite version of Streetwear Spark Messi and the Portable Playmaker back bling.
