G2 Esports signs multi-year partnership with Winamax
23 January 2026
More and more sectors and industries are discovering the potential and added value of esports. Education, real-time sports, the military; those are just a few of the sectors who have been getting more involved in local and international esports in the past few years.
One industry we did not mention yet is the international sports betting industry, which has a lot of potential overlap with the world of international esports as well. In many countries around the world, online betting on esports is already legal and available at licensed online bookmakers, and it feels like this trend will continue to grow over the coming years. This also explains the latest partnership for G2 Esports, who recently signed a brand-new multi-year collaboration with Winamax, the leading platform for online poker and online sports betting in France.
New official betting partner
Online betting on esports is a rapidly growing form of online betting, as the global esports industry as a whole is maturing at a fast rate as well. With Winamax, G2 Esports is clearly playing into that trend, especially as the French platform has been named the organization’s “Official betting partner”. By doing so, the Berlin-based esports organization is following the example of rival organizations like Team Vitality, who took on crypto betting and casino platform Stake.com as official betting partner in the summer of 2025.
Historic in more than one sense
The new partnership with Winamax marks a major milestone in the history of G2 Esports, which was founded back in 2014. The French online bookmaker and online poker platform is not only the first official betting partner for G2 Esports, but also the first betting operator toe be approved by Riot Games to sponsor a team in Europe. Riot Games is the studio behind famous esports titles like League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2 and VALORANT; titles in which G2 competes with its own teams.
“We’re incredibly excited to work with a truly pan-European partner who feels like a perfect fit for G2”, says Alban Dechelotte, CEO at G2, “Our fans are everywhere, literally in every single country and it means a lot to us to collaborate with a brand that shares that same European DNA. With the launch of HopEUm, we wanted to go beyond a classic partnership and create something that genuinely brings value to our fans and the wider community. This show will, for the first time, capture the point of view of each community across Europe, and we can’t wait to see it come to life.”
“The G2 Way”
According to G2 Esports and Winamax, their new partnership is not going to be just another esports partnership. That is why they have launched previously mentioned HopEUm, a new podcast about League of Legends. The show will unite co-streamers, pro players, and special guests from across Europe to break down everything that happened in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC). Throughout the multi-year collaboration, G2 and Winamax are also planning to roll out all sorts of original content, community-focused initiatives and creative fan experiences.
