PVISION claim Esports World Cup 2026 Dota 2 title vs. BetBoom Team

It is unlikely that we need to tell you that, at the moment of writing, the Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC26) is being held in Paris (France). From July 2 to August 23, the best esports teams and players from around the world are gathering in the French capital to compete in dozens of titles at the very highest level of international esports.  What we can imagine though, is that not every one of our readers is completely up to date on which events and tournaments are played when during the EWC26. There is a lot of action to follow, after all.
That is why today we are focusing on Dota 2 at the Esports World Cup. The tournament kicked off on day one, with the final taking place yesterday, on July 19. The Grand Final was won in convincing fashion by Serbian esports organization PVISION after a thrilling showdown against BetBoom Team from Russia.

PVISION in form

For the Dota 2 event at the Esports World Cup 2026, 24 of the best Dota teams in the world battled it out in Paris for a piece of the $ 2 million prize pool. Eventual champions got off to a flying start in the Group Stage, winning four of its five matches. Only Team Spirit managed to keep the Serbs off a fifth 2-0 victory by making it to 1-1. Their first place in Group A meant that they could immediately advance to the Playoffs.

Playoff action

In those Playoffs, Rune Eaters Esports from Kazakhstan was the first opponent. At this point it is important to remember that PVISION had only lost just one map so far, in the Group Stage against Team Spirit. And Rune Eaters was not able to pile on that impressive statistic, losing 2-0 to the Serbian organization.

Up next was Russian organization Team Yandex, who had finished first in Group D and made it to the Playoff Semifinals by defeating Team Spirit 2-0 in the Quarterfinals. In other words, a serious challenge for in-form PVISION, who managed to win the first map with relative ease. The second map became an incredible thriller though, taking no less than 65:47 minutes and eventually ending in the hands of Team Yandex. The match was close and the pressure considerable for the third and final map, where it took PVISION a bit under 38 minutes in the end to book their place in the Grand Final.

PVISION vs. BetBoom Team

The Grand Final was the only game of the EWC26 Dota 2 tournament with a Best-of-5 format and it looked like BetBoom Team (BB Team), PVISION’s opponents in that final were better prepared for it than PVISION. They needed just over 45 minutes to clinch the first map before making it a very tight affair on the second map. After 62 minutes of play though, PVISION produced the 1-1 and they then just needed another hour-and-something to win the whole thing. The loot? Prize money worth $ 750.000 plus 1.000 EWC Club Points. Runner-up BB Team got $ 340.000 and 750 EWC Club Points.
