11 March 2025

With the first edition of the Esports World Cup edging closer every day, two international esports organizations have published exciting news, especially for the fans of Rainbow Six Siege. A day after Chinese organization Weibo Gaming announced their entry into Rainbow Six Siege esports and revealed their roster, Saudi Arabia-based Falcon Esports also entered the Rainbow Six Siege arena. They will be doing so with a very interesting roster, comprising of Team BDS’ former title-winning team.

Weibo enters first Rainbow Six Siege roster

With Weibo Gaming, the world of Rainbow Six Siege got a new competitor with serious ambitions. This became clear from day one, as the organization accompanied the announcement of their first Rainbow Six Siege team with news of several high-profile transfers. Former Bleed Esports players Aldo “Hovenherst” Firmansyah en Wu “Reeps96” Weichen joined Weibo Gaming as active players, while Patrick “MentalistC” Fan has been brought in as manager and assistant coach.

“The past five months have been one hell of a struggle, but I am glad we finally found a new home, along with some new talents,” the previously mentioned “MentalistC” wrote on X after Weibo Gaming’s announcement. “For me personally, it’s time to take a step back and let the young guns cook while [meepeY] and I guide them the best we can from the background…”

“Hovenherst”, “Reeps96” and “MentalistC” are joining former Bleed Esports teammate Taylor “Terdsta” Ching at Weibo Gaming. The remaining members of Weibo’s new Rainbow Six Siege team are Yunos “SpeakEasy” Mohamed and Razaan “Ape” Adiprakasa, who won the Asia League 2024 – Stage 2 Grand Final against Bleed last year. Rainbow Six veteran Matthew “meepeY” Sharples, who worked as a coach for Rogue, KOI and Wildcard before, joined Weibo Gaming as head coach for the new roster.

Falcon Esports take over Team BDS

A day after Weibo Gaming’s exciting Rainbow Six Siege announcement, Falcon Esports also revealed a roster with which they want to enter Rainbow Six Siege esports. The Saudi Arabia-based organization created a team that is comprised entirely of players from former champions Team BDS. As soon as this organization let its players know that they were free to explore options with other organizations, Falcon Esports pounced and integrated BDS’ entire team. They will now try to continue their successes under the Falcon Esports flag as the Esports World Cup, which will be held in Saudi Arabia this summer, approaches.

“Congrats for this guys, I’m sure this new home will fit you well”, said Loïc “Eden” Sennepin, former Rainbow Six Siege coach for Falcon Esports, “Muhammed Almutairi [general director at Falcon Esports], look after them as much as you looked after us and everything should be well.”
